Seastars and Waves

Photographed at Point of Arches on Shi Shi Beach, Olympic National Park, south of Neah Bay, Washington

Early September
Nikkor 24 mm lens

Extremely low tides occur each month at the time of the full moon (the lowest of the year are around the solstices).  Beautiful arches, rock formations, and tide pools are exposed and you have easy access to them for a few hours.

(Note: camp as high as you can on the beach to avoid the corresponding extreme high tides)
