(The city where it never rains!!!)

Greetings, and welcome to Seattle, WA., U.S.A. Hopefully, this web page will provide some insights into what it means to call Seattle home. In a somewhat unorganized, and often unorthodox fashion, this page will present some of the sights, people, places, and things that make the Queen City an excellent place to live.

I've created this web page to provide information to those of you who are considering a trip to Seattle for whatever reason. There is nothing for sale on this page.

If there is anything that you feel would enhance the utility of this page, or have any constructive criticism to offer, please send an Email with your suggestions and comments. Suggestions will be reviewed and possibly incorporated into future updates of this site. Thanks for stopping by.

TRANSPORTATION:

If you are planning a trip here, and plan on staying within the city limits of Seattle, you probably don't need a rental car. The Metro provides public transportation, and it's pretty good. Additionally, if you like to walk, odds are, you'll have a lot of company. Bring some comfortable walking shoes, and possibly a hat in the event of rain. If you have room for a bicycle, I'd encourage you to bring it. The majority of buses operated by Metro have bike racks in the event you get tired and need a break.

A bicycle will allow you to see some things you might otherwise miss. Additionally, I think you'll find that most of the natives are friendly, and a bike seems to allow for more interaction between the rider and the public.

AREAS OF INTEREST:

If I'm not careful here, I'll use all the free space that my Internet Service Provider (ISP), Northwest Link provides in a very short period of time. There is a LOT to see and do in Seattle. Two weeks here doesn't even begin to scratch the surface.

Please note that this web page is continuously under development. I use it as a test platform. Some of the links may not work due to software constraints, ISP concerns, or a lack of time. Additionally, some of the photo's may not be entirely accurate, e.g., a picture of Golden Gardens may be included in the photo's of the Ballard locks. I'll keep you close. The two areas mentioned are about a mile apart. That will be the case with whatever is presented (I hope.)

One note about the photo's. Using this web page as a test platform, I've used lots of different software, e.g., Claris, Hot Dog, NETSCAPE, Microsoft, Paint Shop Pro, Kodak, TWAIN packages, etc., etc.. As well as different scanners, e.g., Hewlett Packard, UMAX, the list goes on. The caliber of some of the photo's may be marginal (or even lousy.) I'm still experimenting. By all means, blame the photographer, the city won't let you down. It's an excellent backdrop for photographers.

PLEASE E-MAIL ANY COMMENTS OR SUGGESTIONS - THANK YOU!!!
