Platelets:
Vol
= 50cc per unit/pack.
Requires a special filter
(different than a regular blood filter).
Infuse at a rate of 1 unit/pack every 10 minutes.
Each pack of platelets is derived by 1 unit of Whole Blood.
Typically given when Platelets drop to < 20 Bill/L . 1 unit should
increase the Platelet count by 6,000.
