Microemboli:
Despite
the use of a blood filter, dead RBCs and their debris get through and can impare
bloodflow within
the microvasculature... This is
especially possible in the lungs, where ARDS can be the result.
By the the time your blood expires at 23:59, at least half of the RBCs
may be garbage!
Sort of depressing, huh?
