Daisy at 8 weeks.

Daisy is our couch potato and canine therapist.  We describe her as "tall, blue, and handsome."   And so she is very handsome with a long, silky dark blue coat and full trim. She draws eyes wherever she goes with her winning personality.  A bit of a clown, Daisy loves to perform her repertoire of tricks for visitors.  She is one of the smartest dogs we've known, and one of the most mischievous.  She has been known to climb to the high shelf of our bookshelves to retrieve a chew toy.  She has also on a number of occasions alerted us to trouble in our neighborhood.

Daisy is spayed because she is not of breeding quality.  Not all purebred, pedigreed dogs are good candidates for breeding, and we have found that Daisy has some traits that we would not care to reproduce.  At four years old she also began to have seizures.  Epilepsy and auto-immune disorders do occur in Aussies.   We encourage anyone who is looking for any breed of dog to research health issues in the breed of interest and ask breeders specific questions about health issues in their lines.   Despite Daisy's health issues, she lives an active, happy life and competes in Altered conformation!

After a show: "Give me five, Dai!"

Daisy has been trained in obedience and beginning stock work, and has taught me much about dog training.

Resting, August 2002.

She is the undisputed canine authority figure in our household and she watches over her own!
