Chess is co-owned with my brother Joshua Burgner. He is strikingly typey,
high energy, and a bit clownish. He reminds my mother in looks and
temperament of her old dog Zipper from the 1970's, especially when he jumps to
head the horses through the fence. That's a no-no but nevertheless
spectacular to see. Chess was introduced to stock as a puppy, but hasn't
worked much.
Chess is named for his checkerboard "half bottom" rear: one leg black, one leg blue, one hip black, one hip blue.
