Masters Class Rules


The purpose of this document is to outline the basic requirements for a very high quality / high scale fidelity heavily armed combat vessels, These ships will be constructed in 1/48th scale and refered to as Masters Class. All QO safety, construction, detailing and operating standards apply.

One full year combat experience is recommended for entry into this class.

All ships will comply with 726 building requirements.

Bilge pump capacity for displacement hull type vessles is 125 gph, for MTBs and MGB types the discharge rate is 25 gph.

MTBs and MGBs (planing hull type) will have 16th inch balsa hull plating or be vaccume formed from 80 thousandths ABS plastic..

MTBS and MGBs (planing hull type).

All primary guns may be armed. (Rounds per gun are unlimited.)

All secondary guns may be armed. (Rounds per gun are unlimited.)

Guns larger then 3 inch will fire 1/4 inch rounds, smaller than 3 inch will fire 3/16 inch rounds.

All torpedo tubes may be armed. Or one tube may file all torpedoes carried in a multiple tube launcher. Through hull tubes may fire the number of reloads known to be carried for that firing battery.

Torpedoes must be scale size.

Search lights one inch in diameter or smaller must have a minimum of a 2 inch shroud. Search lights larger than one inch must have a four inch shroud.

Television and advanced fire control divices are encouraged.

Exceptions to QO standards are as follows:

Outfitting Items #3 items 1/2 inch or larger must be present on the model.

Outfitting Items #4 20mm guns are required

There is no minimum number of guns that must be armed.

Gun elevation is not restricted.

Ships may be crew served. However the Gunnery Officer must operate on his QO assigned frequency.

It is permissible to have one solid panel between two frames on one or both sides of the ship if the panel is used to protect an anti sinking device.
