Greetings! Please excuse the mess. I'm just learning about HTML and web authoring, and so you may be subjected to various experiments if you catch this page at just the wrong time, and for sure, you'll be subjected to poor web design until I've gotten more familiar with the subject. :)
We are Pete, Debra, and Harvey (warning, a bunch of in-line pictures at the Harvey link!). This is our web site (see the site notes).

In case you couldn't tell, this page is under construction. I hope that there aren't any broken links, but there's plenty of places that links are missing.
What's a web site for? In particular, what's a Home Page supposed to be? Well, I'm still trying to figure that out. Some obvious uses for a Home Page include:
Since these are the obvious things (to me), that's where I'll start. As I get feedback, and have time to think more about what this web site should look like, I hope that things will improve. My goals are primarily to provide a place for Debra and me to share information with our friends and family. In the process, I expect that we'll reveal enough about ourselves that the site could also be considered somewhat of an introduction. And since as most people who know us know, I love to share my opinions as well, so I expect eventually, I'll start taking advantage of our soapbox here in that way. :)
All design issues are always open for debate, and I welcome comments. One thing I'm struggling with right now is whether the content should reveal myself as the author, or if it should be generic third-person, or somewhere in between. Writing "I" anywhere I refer to myself is easiest, but makes the web site seem very one-sided. In addition, if and when Debra starts contributing her own content, it could be pretty confusing if we're both using "I". Writing "Pete and Debra", "Pete", or "Debra", depending on who I'm talking about seems like a pretty clean alternative, but it detracts from the personal feel of the site. Since the site is for friends and family, this seems like a serious flaw. A compromise in which "We" is used instead of "Pete and Debra" seems okay. For now, I'm going to stick to a single style for a given page, but experiment with different styles on different pages to see which I like better.
To provide comments, opinions, suggestions, or just to say "hi", please send email to Peter Duniho. Note that this is not my work email address, and I don't read it nearly as often as I do my work email address. If you know my work email address, feel free to use that instead. I already get plenty of spam on the work address, but I don't think publishing it here on the web site would help matters much.
