Anyone interested in singing in the Choir and/or providing special music in worship this year, please meet with Lisa and the Choir in the Sanctuary after fellowship time.
Covenant Discipleship Groups meet monthly. This year we will focus our biblical reflections on 1st and 2nd Corinthians and continue our emphasis on the practice of spiritual disciplines in everyday life. If you would like to make a commitment to be a part of one of these groups, please speak with Pastor Monica ASAP.
Every Sunday children, ages 3 and up, are invited to take part in Children Worship and Wonder. This ministry provides an opportunity for children to learn the stories of the Christian faith in fun and imaginative ways. Following Children’s Time, children are escorted by the greeter to our Children’s Worship Center, located in the north wing of the building. Parents are asked to pick up their children there following worship. A nursery is also provided for the use of parents with children under age 3. Please ask a greeter for directions.
From a “Board Culture” to a “Ministry Culture”
The Church Board has begun considering a proposed new structure for governing our congregation’s ministries. This structure, if adopted, would be more streamlined than our current one and enable people to be freed from governance responsibilities to have more time & energy for leading ministries.
The Board is using the Discernment process to help us consider this matter. Therefore, the Board and the Transformation Team would like to invite all to provide a response to this proposal. There is an outline available in the narthex which will help you to share your thoughts and concerns in a manner that can inform our discernment. Thank you for your prayerful input on this important decision for the life and ministry of Northwest Christian Church.
Becky Rufin is again hosting Movie Nights for NW Christian Church and our neighbors. The next is planned for May 17th at 7:00pm. The movie is "The Indian in The Cupboard" (PG, 1995). All are invited to bring a friend and, if you want to, a snack to share.
Every Sunday, we rely on many volunteers to assist our worship and fellowship. People are needed to look after the nursery, to provide flowers for the sanctuary, to serve as greeters before worship, to provide coffee hour snacks and assist with our education ministries.
You can find sign-up sheets for many of these roles next to the drinking fountain in the Fellowship Hall. If you would like to volunteer in any other way, please speak with Pastor Monica and she can direct you to the congregational leader who coordinates that area of ministry.
