Green River alum cracks Chicago Cubs bullpen

Patton found out Sunday morning he had made the Cubs' Opening Day roster when he met with general manager Jim Hendry in his Houston hotel room. The right-hander, who has spent five seasons in Colorado's system but never pitched above the Class A level, is finally in the big leagues. "This is what you devote all your time to and what I've wanted since I was a little kid," Patton said. "This is just the beginning.
