Update for Tuesday, June 6
The past few weeks have been filled with a number of firsts for Katie. Here she is with her friend Spencer Brown and his Mom Christina at Katie's first playdate!
We also had a very special visit from Katie's Aunt Tara and Uncle Bryan from Missouri. Here's a photo of Katie's first pear juice 'espresso'! Auntie Tara showed Katie how to drink from a straw:
Katie was also very fond of her Uncle Bryan. He indulged her tendencies to practice dentristry, and could be found sitting on the sofa with Katie with his mouth open so she could check out his teeth!
This was a very special visit for our family. We really enjoyed the time we spent together.
Katie also had a visit last month from her Great-Grandpa Joe! If ever there was a favorite for her - here he is! Great-Grandparents seem to take the simple art of overindulgence to a whole new level - just wait until you get a nice icy cold drink next to Katie, she now believes it's her right to put her whole fist in your cup and snatch up your ice cubes! (if you don't believe me, just ask Spencer's Mom!)
Here's a photo of Katie enjoying some bread with her Great-Grandpa:
One thing I know about Katie's Great-Grandpa - he's surely in love with his "littlest angels". Here he is with Katie and her cousin Morgan:
As we come to the end of this post, let me update you on a few of Katie's milestones. She's not quite walking yet, but can cruise the furniture as fast as anyone, and will say "go, go, go!" as soon as you give her your fingers to hold on to so she can 'walk'!
Katie words include 'go, go, go!', 'hi!', 'buh-bye', 'dog!', 'dolly' (or something like that), 'da' (the short form of Dad), and 'wuf wuf' when the dogs bark. She's a ton of fun, and has an easy-going personality.
She's also quickly becoming able to eat more regular food. She begs for handouts worse than the dogs sometimes! This child especially loves bagels with cream cheese, muffins, and toast.
Here's the last photo for today... two lovely girls with bedhead, sharing a muffin breakfast:
