Update for Tuesday, October 25

Hi everybody! Katherine is 8 1/2 months old and has recently started eating baby food. We're three weeks into it, and her daily regiment includes pear juice and green beans for brunch, and oatmeal cereal and prunes for dinner. It's amazing how quickly she figured out how to eat from a spoon - almost immediately she was opening her mouth like a little bird, and gulping down the food as fast as we could shovel it down. Here are some funny pictures!

She really likes her prunes! This is the very first meal - the mess all over her face is our fault ... we had to learn our technique too!

Here she is with the first bites of green beans. She actually retched with this awful face! It took a few tries, but she likes the green beans now.

The last photo may seem a bit ordinary to all of you, but to me it's one of my favorites. She's taken to rolling most of the way over when she sleeps, and then puts her knee up and her hands by her face. I think it's so cute.

Stay tuned for Halloween Photos next week!

Update for Monday, October 10

Hello friends! Last week, Katie and I had some quality play time together. She was acting kind of silly, so we got the camera out and took some snaps.

Here's Katie doing her tummy time. It used to be a chore that made her mad, but now that she can turn over by herself - it's not quite so frustrating. Note the many scratches on her face - that's what happens when you go a few too many days without a claw trim!

I wish this blog could come with sound - in this photo she was working very hard to blow a huge, spitty, raspberry in my face! This is so much fun - what a silly girl!

Have I ever told you how much Katie loves Mocha? These two are forming quite the sweet friendship. Mocha always comes by Katie for a quick lick in the face (or hands, or head, or feet), and Katie just lights up when this little doggie walks in the room. Here they are holding hands.

That's all for now! Thanks for visiting!
