Update for Thursday, May 4

So, here we are again. A mere 2 months has passed since the last update, and I'm not even going to offer apologies. It is what it is people. So, since we're not going to beat a dead horse, let's move along shall we?

Before we jump into current photos, I just have to share a funny scene from a few months ago. Katie and her Daddy were playing with a box in the kitchen, and it was so funny!

Miss Katie seems to get bigger every day. Her face seems so mature, and her ability to communicate with us gets better too. We officially declared her first word (after Mama and Dada) to be DOG! It couldn't be more fitting. This baby loves her dogs!

Here's a picture of Katie reading her book to Mocha:

It's amazing how mobile she's become since Christmas. Around her birthday in February, Miss Katie was a very good crawler:

Then her Grandma Carol gave her a fantastic scooter for her birthday, and she was off to the races:

Now, the scooter has transformed into a walker, and I swear this girl is like Forrest Gump - she can run like the wind (almost):

Fading quickly are the days of pureed mush, and suspiciously smooth meat products. Katie has grown bored of the same old stuff...

... she's now a happy eater of all things, especially fruits and vegetables! We're able to prepare almost all of Katie's foods ourselves, and it's fun to see just what she can eat.

Katie's Grandpa came to visit in March. They love to read together!

One of Katie's favorite toys is this kitchen scoop. The reason I'm sharing this with you is because about 2 seconds after I took this picture, she gagged herself with the handle of the scoop, lost her balance, and fell over. She wasn't hurt, but I can't help but chuckle when I see this photo!

Miss Katie spent Easter with us at Aunt June's house. This is also the home of two of Katie's baby cousins. Unfortunately, these babies were out of town for Easter, but they graciously let Katie play with their toys and take a nap in their crib.

Most recently, Katie Grace took a little vacation with her Grandma Teresa. They spent a weekend on Lopez Island in the San Juans. It was a great opportunity for Grandma and Katie to spend time together, and it was nice for Paul and I to have some alone time as well!

Grandma Teresa has a huge sink in the kitchen at Lopez - big enough for our girl to take a bath in!

Every night, Katie called home to check-in. (yes, the phone still works when it's upside-down and backwards!)

One last bit of good news, we're so happy to tell you that RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) season is finally over in Western Washington. This means that Katie is released from house arrest, and is free to go out and see the world! Our first stop was Costco on a Saturday morning, and we loved the free samples! Katie nearly climbed up my arm to get more of the Strawberry Smoothie that they were giving out. She actually cried when I gave the empty paper cup to Auntie Liz to throw away. High fructose corn syrup products are YUMMY!

So, there it is. A long wait for photos, but hopefully this will satisfy for a while.

So long for now! Until next time (whenever that may be!).

Hi Julie and Paul! You are growing a darling little girl. We love the high chair and bath photos, and, of course, grandpa reading. Can't wait to meet her and see you.

Hugs,
Aunt Linnie and Uncle John
