 Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil

Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil by Gareth Von Kallenbach

Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil is a solid add on to the best Selling Doom 3 that does what a few adds on do, and that is offer something more than just a few new levels and a enemies.

Resurrection is a completely new chapter in the saga that centers around a previously unexplored area of Mars known as "Site 1." Set a few years after the events of Doom 3, the game will soon have gamers facing off against all new legions of creatures, many of which are much larger and nastier than their previous versions.

While players still have to lurk in the dark aided only by their flashlights, (Which still cannot be combined with a weapon), they do have a double barreled shotgun and a gravity gun that allows you to toss heavy items at the enemies, and also aids in defeating some larger enemies that seem resistant to conventional firepower.

Resurrection included new multiplay options including the improved capture the flag mode that allows players to better plan and execute strategies due to the improved lighting effects and ability to hide in plain site.

The game still does not address the simple A.I. where enemies will run at you consistently without taking much evasion. The gravity gun also seems as if it was lifted directly from Half Life 2 and seems more of imitation than innovation. That being said, as add on packs go, this is one of the better ones, as it offers more of what was already a good game.
