In the latest installment of city building games, Children of the Nile takes advantage of modern graphics and animation to create a virtual community based along the Nile River. As the new Pharaoh, you must rule
your people and build many lasting monuments all the while managing a changing society and political world each with their own needs.
Thanks to a very nice tutorial and a very easy control system, players will be up to speed in no time and crafting the basic needs for the society which will survive or fall based upon your decisions.
Players can get a sense of what is going on by zooming in on segmentsof the city and listening to the conversations of the locals as well as by looking at any of the sub menus that are dedicated to keeping
tabs on vital things such as resources, tax rates, attitude of the people, and diplomacy.
While it would be nice if you could directly control players it is important to keep an eye on the larger picture as things can and do change in a hurry.
The graphics are amazing and give a very stunning
representation of life in ancient times.
The sound in game is solid if not spectacular as everything from voices to animal and nature sounds blend to create a pleasant tone for the game.
There is good challenge in the game and while it offers little new in the genre aside from great graphics but there is still plenty of fun to be had.
Graphics 4/5
Sound 3/5
Gameplay 4/5
Value 4/5
Overall 4/5
