 Dungeon Lords

Dungeon Lords by Gareth Von Kallenbach

RPG fans can rejoice as the man behind the classic Wizardry series, D.W.Bradley has helped to craft the new RPG adventure Dungeon Lords. Players start the game with the usual character creator and can select from a wide range of classes and characters. Some players may chose to go with spells as their form of offense while others may want the more tried and true method of cold metal to ensure their safety. No matter what you select, there are plenty of options for each.

Make sure you equip your character well as the game is heavily focused on combat and no sooner does the game get started before you will find yourself in heated and mortal combat that moves at a break neck pace. If the sheer volume of enemies out for your hide was not enough the clever A.I. allows for some truly tenacious strategies such as units mixing close range with ranged attacks in the same battle leaving players with multiple modes of defense.

Graphically the game is sound as is the audio portion of the game that helps immerse gamers into the grand adventure.

Some players may become frustrated with the larger dungeons that the game contains while others will enjoy the solid mix of action and exploration that is required to come out alive. What is frustrating are a few omissions from the game as well as a selection of bugs that hampered play.

Most notably is the lack of an in game mapping system. Despite a map button in game and the mention of such system in the game literature. There are a few other glitches in the game, but none of them are deal breakers and should be fixed with new patches.

Multiplay is included and the ability to fight with a group of friends is an amazing plus for those who have honed their combat skills through hours of solo play.

While not perfect, there are enough good moments in game to delight fans of the RPG genre, if you can just overlook a few bugs.

3.5/5
