Star Trek Deep Space 9: Seasons Six and Seven DVD

The sixth and seventh season of "Star Trek Deep Space 9" are now on DVD and Paramount has wisely decided not to change the successful formula they have established and followed with the release of the first season of The Next Generation last year.

Season 6 and 7 continues the ongoing story of the Dominion threat upon the Federation and the Alpha Quadrant and centers around the Dominion war in the Cardassian system. The Federation is taking heavy losses and the strong and versatile cast is given alot to work with this year including Odo (Rene Auberjonois )having to deal with a deadly virus ravaging his people and Captain Cisco (Avery Brooks) having to deal with loss, the war, and a developing romance. Cisco also has to balance his position as spiritual figure to the Bajorans as well as his role with the mysterious Prophets.

Episodes of note include the series finale "All that you leave Behind" The very provoking "The Seige of "AR-558" and "Tears of the Prophets" "highlight this spectacular set. The overall quality of the episodes shine, as the acting, writing, and effects give a blance to the season. .The Season sets are well-crafted and in many ways surpasses the outstanding Next Generation series. Aside from the plethora of behind the scenes and making of segments, the series features the episodes in sparking color and sound and is a must for collectors.
