MEET OUR STAFF:

Donn Bennett

The Man Himself

Donn has been teaching in the area for over 30 years, and been buying and selling drums for over 20.  Donn started the shop out of his house buying, selling and trading drums for his own personal collection.  Donn found he had a knack for finding rare and unusual drums and his collection became so large he opened up a shop where he could teach drum lessons and sell drums.  Over the years Donn has become well known not just in the area but in the world and with some of the most famous of drummers.

Donn stood in line for 10 hours to meet Sebastian Bach, he just wanted to know how he made his hair so big.

James Busch

Repairs, Shipping, Drum Restoration, Vintage Parts specialist, Guru

James is a local boy and a graduate of Washington State University and has been playing locally for over 25 years.   Jim has a vast expertise in the repairing drums, and a collection that is bigger than yours. He is our go to guy when it comes to restoring vintage drum sets.

Jim collects condiments. Bring him your favorite when you visit. mmmm, samitches!

Dave Brozowski

Drum Tech, Repairs, EBay Sales, Website Maintenance, Guru In training

Davey has been coming around the shop since he was 13 and just looked so sad we decided to give him a job.  Davey has been playing locally and touring since he was 17.  He played with local Sub Pop band "The Catheters" and has spent time on the road as a drum tech for The Shins, The Presidents of The USA, Alan White, The Gossip, Old Gregg and more.

Davey has all things that are good and also paints watercolor - come in and ask to see his work!

Kris Bulakowski*

Shop Manager, Inventory Specialist,  Lesson Scheduling, Special Orders

Kris moved all the way from Connecticut to work at the drum shop. He graduated University of Connecticut with a degree in English. He spent many years gigging around CT with local bands while at the same time  managing an independent furniture store. Nobody can pack a couch in a car like Kris can.

Kris loves to fish on Black Lake. He loves catching  trout and old Gregg. Nothing beats a fishing trip and some Baileys in a shoe!

Pete Harris

 Website consultant, Wannabe Guru

Pete has been a friend of the shop for many years. A fantastic drummer who just so happens to be a computer geek. We recruited him to help us understand the  world wide web. You can hear Pete swing out at www.peteharrisquartet.com.

Pete is know to some as  The Busking Drummer for setting up his kit at Redmond Town Center and air druming while singing Celine Dion songs. He does have quiet a voice.

"T" Tony Lewis

Midwest drum guru, Midwest DBDS representative

Although Tony has never actually been to the shop, he continues to enlighten us with his extensive knowledge of vintage drums and his unyielding hipitude. He is one of the coolest dudes you'll ever meet and his drum collection is even better! Tony can be seen drumming for his own original band called “Tony Lewis and Lawnmowers”. They are the only band around dedicated to writing songs about a grinding weekend of yard work.

Tony has won the noble prize for lawn mowing six years in a row. He's the only person endorsed by John Deer!

Tim Meinig

IT, Website, internet sales

Tim is a whiz when it comes to the computer, a long time customer who hung around enough to finally get paid for it.  When something goes wrong he fixes it.  He has been playing locally and touring in bands since he was 20 and most recently played in Sub Pop band "band of horses". Tim currently attends Washington State University and will be back in the summer of 07.

Tim is the only member of The Rat City Roller Girls who plays drums.
