About this Image

My name is Bill Youngs and I have been trustee for my mother, Peg Youngs, since 1991 when she began developing signs of dementia, brought on, most likely, by Parkinson's disease. Currently she lives in Sunrise, a care facility on Merser Island, near Seattle, Washington. At various times as we develop this site, my brother, Chris Youngs, and other family members will add their own entries. The illustrations are by Cecily Moon, Chris's wife.

We will pursue two goals through working on this site: (1) We will use it as an occasion to reflect on Mom and her care, and (2) we hope that by sharing our experiences, we will provide perspective to other families with a loved one who is suffering from dementia.
