Observed Trials - a low speed motorcycle competition where the object is to ride over natural obstacles without putting your foot down. For world-class riders, the obstacles can get be pretty sizeable, as you can see. The sport is very popular in Europe, is challenging to do, and is fun to watch. I've seen it referred to as the gymnastics of motocycling. The bikes are quiet and agile - the emphasis is on technique.

Note that the pictures are of world class riders - I rode, up until 2 years ago, but I didn't do things quite as difficult.

The subject of Trials is a good catalyst for an open-mindedness discussion. I appreciate people who recognize that enjoying this sport does not prevent me from enjoying and respecting many other forms of outdoor activity.
