The Radio is a five channel upgradable to seven channel Ace Nautical Commander
This radio has been optimized for Battleship operation. This configuration in not well suited for Destroyers or other fast moving ships.
The eight position slide switch under the rudder lever is enabled by the switch left of the trim. I can set the ship to remain in any of four different radius turns, either direction or switch back to normal steering.
At the top of the case is an MCD eight switch channel multiplexer. The silver switch under is changes the control function to the proportional lever on the right side of the case should I elect to use that type of control function.
The forward two turrets are controlled by the left knob and the right controls the stern turret.
I replaced the left throttle with two fire control buttons and moved the left side proportional next to the fire control buttons to use for elevation.
I shortened the throttle stick and installed a return spring between reverse and neutral. You have to hold the throttle in reverse. When you release it it returns to neutral/off. It stays where you put it ahead.
This Radio is six channel JR.
This radio has been optimized for Destroyer operations. This configuration allows the ship to be operated buy the left hand while the guns are operated by the right hand.
This Radio is seven channel FM Ace Nautical Commander.
This radio is usable for Cruiser or Destroyer operations. Two sets of fire control buttons are installed with a proportional lever between used for elevation. The right hand throttle has been converted to traversing. A two position switch selects either three position traversing or fully proportional When used in my fixed gun destroyer the three position traversing switch deploys mines and smoke. Normally in night battles I set my elevation at medium range, and reconnect the elevtion channel to operate the combat and navigation lights. The MCD eight switch channel multiplexer is only used on my Cruiser.
