The second season of Star Trek Voyager has arrived in a very impressive set from Paramount DVD.

Starring Kate Mulgrew as Commander Katherine Janeway, a career Starfleet officer who is forced to overcome all manner of obstacles as she attempts to get her ship and crew home from an unexplored region of space 70 years from their home.

Voyager did show some growing pains in the second season, as it was clear that the series writers were constantly looking to define the direction of the show and characters. There were several episodes that dealt with a distorted reality, while others attempted to focus more on action and exploration. The writers wisely avoided many red-herring episodes were the crew thinks they are going home only to be disappointed. This is what I refer to as the Lost-in Space syndrome as you know the ship is not getting back anytime soon as the basis of the show is a lost ship. Instead the focus was put on expanding the relationships between the crew, as for the most part, many alien characters could not be reoccurring characters due to the nature of the show where the crew was leaving the regions they were encountering each week as they attempted to get home. The Season Two DVD set is a well crafted. The menu functions are well designed and easy to navigate and highly detailed. Aside from the plethora of behind the scenes, interviews and making of segments, the series features the episodes in sparking color and sound. One impressive edition to the set is a day in the life of segment that focuses on Ethan Phillips, where fans can see what he had to endure in the make up chair to become the lovable Neelix.

With each passing Trek set is clear that Paramount is providing fans with high-quality sets that are loaded with features and some of the best crafted collections available anywhere.
